Innisfree sunblock review

Hi, I’m back with another Innisfree review: Innisfree Eco Safety Perfect Waterproof Sunblock. Yes. I’m Innisfree addicted. I must admit that. If you look at my drawer, you can spot Innisfree products right away. I love love love this brand. I’ve been quite loyal to this brand. If you look at the list of my reviews, you would realize that 80% of the reviews are about Innisfree. From makeup products to skin care things. The review of Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil will be posted next week. I’m even waiting for the legendary Green Tea Seed Cream to arrive. My dad is going on a business trip to Korea this summer, and I already know what I’m gonna ask him to get for me. On top of the list: Green Tea Seed Serum and Green Tea Seed Deep Cream.

Ok, enough with all the excitements. This review is about a sunblock from Innisfree that I started using recently. I actually ordered this quite a while ago, but the store sent me the wrong one. So I used that wrong one instead (the long lasting one). Now that tube is empty, I ordered the Waterproof Sunblock again to try. I was eager to try this since it was advertised as a physical sunblock, 100% mineral filter. I love using physical sunblock for 2 reasons: they don’t ask to reapply as frequently as the chemical one and they are less irritant. Phyiscal sunblocks are sunblocks that have zinc oxide and titanium oxide as ingredients. One minus point of physical sunblock is that white cast. It makes your face ghost like looking. Most of people hate that but I honestly don’t mind. Another great ingredient that I spot on is niacinamide. Niacinamide is said to improve skin’s elasticity and enhance its barrier function, help erase discolorations, and revive skin’s healthy tone and texture (source ). I heard a lot people praising it already.

Innisfree Eco Safety Perfect Waterproof Sunblock

This strong waterproof sunscreen presents a non-sticky, long lasting sun protection, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth.

[Directions] At the last stage of your skincare routine, evenly apply onto easily exposed areas such as face, neck, arms and legs.

I won’t type out the ingredients list here, because I can capture it pretty well with the camera. I assume that you all can read it well. Like a lot of Innisfree products, it includes Sunflower Oil, Citrus Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, Green Tea Extract, etc. I also spot silicone at some places. But I don’t mind using silicone at day, just not at night. I don’t want it to stay on my face the whole day, so I resist using products with silicones at night.

This waterproof sunblock doesn’t have much differences to the long lasting version. Everything about it is pretty the same so in the following I will only talk about how they are different from each other.

The color out of the tube is not completely white but a little bit more of a beige color. I think they try to make it like that to reduce the white cast and make it more natural. But sadly it fails. When you spread it out on the face, it does make your face a lot whiter compared to the other one. If I reapply it first time, my face will look very very white >>”<< So white that I feel uncomfortable because it’s not close to my skin tone at all.

Also, I feel that it makes my face more oily. It seems like I rarely feels oily with the other one. Or may it be because of the warmer weather? Today, after 10 hours staying outside of the house, my face is even more oily than a frying pan. But you must also consider the fact that I didn’t use blotting paper or touch up with powder. I have done an oil test for you guys, using blotting paper of Skinfood.

I have been using this for about one month and has no complaints at all. I’m currently having normal skin (since it got warmer) so I please consider this fact as people with oily skin might not like it. Next month I will spend a week in Italy which is a lot warmer (or should I say hot?). After that I will write an update for this review about its effectiveness

Have fun and enjoy the summer ^^
